This week
- Stocks turn down last week.
- May be signaling the start of the traditional correction that could take us into September/October.
- A shallow correction will hold above 870.
- Bonds had a big up week spurred on by low inflation.
- Gold faltered this past week and remains caught in a consolidation pattern.
- We admit that there is potential for a breakdown in gold that would once again wipe out the weak longs. Still the long term patterns are compelling but we await a breakout above $1000.
- Oil and gas both faltered badly this past week but the stocks held in.
